What Candle Packaging Needs to Solve
Candle packaging is not only about a clean gift look. A filled glass jar can be heavy, and the jar may shift, rub the label, hit the lid or bend the bottom panel if the box is planned only from empty jar size.
We check the real product and packing method before making the sample, so the structure can support retail display, ecommerce shipping or gift set presentation.
- Keep the candle jar from moving inside the box
- Protect glass during handling and shipping
- Support the filled jar weight at the bottom
- Keep the lid, label or wrap from rubbing
- Confirm the packing method before bulk production
Candle Jar Size, Weight and Glass Protection
For candle jars, the most important checks are finished size, filled weight, movement control, bottom support and outer protection.
Filled Jar Weight
Measure the candle as the finished product, including wax, lid, label and wrap. Empty jar size is not enough for packaging planning.
Side Gap and Top Clearance
The jar should not rattle, rotate or touch the lid during shipping. We check side gap, top clearance and removal space on the sample.
Bottom Support
Heavy jars need a stronger base, insert or bottom pad. The box should not bend under the real filled candle weight.
Label Protection
Jar labels, wraps and printed surfaces may rub against inserts or box walls. We reserve space and check contact areas before bulk production.
Multiple Jars
Gift sets with two or more candles need dividers, balanced weight and enough space so jars do not hit each other inside the box.
Outer Carton
For bulk shipment or ecommerce delivery, the retail box may still need a mailer, divider or corrugated outer carton.
Packaging Structures for Candle Products
Different candle sales channels need different packaging. A paper tube can fit a round jar, a rigid box can build a gift layout, and a mailer box can support ecommerce delivery.
Paper Tubes
Good for round candle jars when inner diameter, tube height, lid fit and bottom support are controlled.
Paper TubesRigid Gift Boxes
Useful for candle gifts, seasonal sets, corporate gifts and premium retail packaging.
Rigid BoxesMailer Boxes
For ecommerce candle shipping when the jar, insert and printed surface need better delivery protection.
Mailer BoxesCorrugated Cartons
For bulk packing, export shipment, divider setup and stacking protection.
Corrugated Boxes
Inserts and Cushioning for Candle Jars
A candle insert should reduce movement and support the jar weight. It also needs to be practical for repeated packing in bulk production.
- Check if the jar can rotate inside the insert
- Check if the insert compresses under filled weight
- Check if the jar can be removed easily
- Check if the packing team can use it consistently
Candle Packaging by Sales Channel
Retail shelves, ecommerce delivery, gift sets and wholesale cartons should not use the same protection plan.
Retail Candles
Focus on clean display, label readability, paper texture, barcode position and shelf-ready presentation.
Ecommerce Candles
Focus on mailer fit, jar movement, insert support, printed surface protection and shipping label position.
Candle Gift Sets
Focus on layout, divider strength, accessory positions, weight distribution and opening presentation.
Wholesale Packing
Focus on candles per carton, carton strength, inner dividers, stacking and export packing details.
Sampling and Quality Check Points
Candle packaging samples should be checked with a filled candle or weighted dummy. This shows weight, movement and bottom support problems that an empty box inspection cannot show.
- Jar fit, side gap, top clearance and movement
- Insert cushioning and bottom support under real weight
- Paper tube diameter, lid fit and tube height if used
- Mailer closure, corrugated board strength and shipping plan
- Label position, print color, surface rubbing and logo finishing
- Bulk packing method, dividers and outer carton arrangement
