Custom Corrugated Mailer Boxes with Tear Strips

A tear-strip mailer suits direct deliveries where controlled opening matters and a defined return closure may be useful. It needs a usable opening path and reliable sealing. A tear strip can show opening, but does not make a parcel theft-proof, waterproof or automatically suitable for a second journey.

High-Performance Mailers

D2C Mailer Construction for Delivery and Returns

Treat the opening strip and return seal as separate functions. The first seal must hold through the outbound journey; the strip must open without tearing into the contents; the unused return adhesive must remain accessible afterward. Adding a second adhesive line is worthwhile only when the return process and remaining box condition justify reuse. Internal print and shipping labels also need separate clear areas so neither compromises the opening path.

Pack, seal and open the sample using the intended instructions. Check both pull directions, liner removal, adhesive contamination and the remaining return flap. Refill the opened box before judging whether the second closure is practical.

By integrating a high-tension tearing ribbon, your customers enjoy a clean, satisfying unboxing experience that completely eliminates the safety hazard of using knives, scissors, or keys to cut through packing tape. Furthermore, our dual peel-and-seal tape design features a second adhesive line, allowing customers to easily reuse the exact same box for shipping returns or exchanges without tape waste.

At LuxoPacks, we utilize advanced digital and offset flexographic printing presses to deliver crisp imagery and accurate color reproduction. From minimalist outer branding to rich inside-the-box storyboards, we construct mailers that keep your products secure and your branding memorable during transit.

Bespoke Options

Printing, Closure and Finish Options

Select the optimal combination of functional structural additions to stand out on the retail porch and maximize shipping safety:

Double Peel & Seal

Features two lines of high-bond adhesive tape with the tear strip in between. Simplifies shipping returns and supports box reuse, cutting packaging waste.

Inside-Outside Printing

Plan exterior branding around the shipping label and opening strip. Interior printing can carry product information or a launch message; understated artwork does not establish theft prevention.

Dust Flaps & Locking Ears

Review side panels and locking ears for closure engagement and handling. They are not a waterproof seal; define any dust or moisture requirement separately.

Gloss & Foil Spot Highlights

Dress up kraft corrugated material with custom hot metallic foils or spot UV lacquer overlays that catch sunlight and highlight your brand.

Procurement & Budgeting

Quantity Tier & Pricing Benchmarks

Industrial corrugated production pricing scales heavily with material surface area and press setup costs. Below are factory ex-works (EXW) benchmarks for an E-Flute medium mailer box (22x16x8cm) with double-sided printing and tear-strip:

Quantity Tier (MOQ) 500 pcs per design and size; final specification recorded in the quotation Recommended Use Case
500 Pcs $0.65 – $0.98 Established cosmetics brands, monthly subscription boxes, premium fashion packaging batches
1,000 Pcs (Sweet Spot) $0.42 – $0.68 Optimized balance of shipping weight, tooling amortization, and maximum color customization
3,000+ Pcs $0.30 – $0.48 Mature retail distributors, national e-commerce shipping fulfillment, recurring wholesale inventory
5,000+ Pcs $0.22 – $0.35 Maximum factory scale, high-volume automated fulfillment centers, ultimate cost-per-unit saving
Earlier reference scenarios below the current 500-piece minimum (not available for ordering)

These original quantity and price references are retained for comparison. They are not current order options or quotations. Do not apply a lower-volume price to a different quantity.

Quantity Tier (MOQ)Indicative Price (USD / EXW)Recommended Use Case
300 Pcs$0.95 – $1.45Emerging e-commerce startups, limited edition D2C drops, regional subscription launches

*Prices are ex-works (EXW) and vary depending on exact paper grade, dimension specs, ink coverage, and finish coating. Confirm tooling ownership, storage, reuse charges and any setup waiver in the written quotation; repeat orders still follow the current production minimum. Use the 3PL-ready packaging handoff checklist to confirm warehouse and fulfillment details before release.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of corrugated mailer boxes with tear strips?

The strip provides a defined opening path and can show that this closure has been opened. It cannot prove that no other part of the parcel was accessed. A second seal supports a return only if the opened box, remaining adhesive and packed contents are still suitable.

What corrugated board thickness and flute grades do you offer?

We primarily manufacture mailers using high-density E-Flute (1.6mm thickness) for its crisp fold lines and excellent puncture resistance, which is perfect for most cosmetics, subscription kits, and apparel shipping. For heavier products, we provide B-Flute (3.2mm) and heavy-duty double-wall boards.

Can we print on both the inside and outside of the mailer box?

Yes. We specialize in high-definition inside-and-outside printing. You can customize the exterior with minimal eco-friendly branding and flood-coat the interior with vivid Pantone spot colors, custom typography, or localized patterns to surprise customers upon opening.

What is the MOQ for custom corrugated mailers with tear strips?

Our minimum order quantity for completely bespoke sizes and double-sided printing with custom easy-tear strips is 500 units, allowing scaling e-commerce brands to benefit from direct factory pricing without large inventories.

Do you provide FSC certified and eco-friendly materials?

Request FSC material when required and verify the certificate scope and order claim. Review the board, ink, varnish, adhesive and tear strips together; FSC sourcing does not establish that the finished mailer is recyclable or biodegradable.
